With an impressive career spanning over two decades, Zalina has built a reputation as a leading advocate in her field and a respected leader in the legal community.

Education and Early Career

Zalina’s academic journey in law began with her LL.B (Honours) from Northumbria University at Newcastle, where she distinguished herself as a dedicated and proficient student. She further solidified her legal foundation by obtaining a Second Class Upper in her Certificate in Legal Practice in the first sitting.

Before founding her firm in 2004, Zalina practiced as an Advocate and Solicitor at Messrs Mohd Latip & Associates. Her early career also included a role as a part-time Lecturer at Kolej Yayasan Melaka, where she independently managed a comprehensive legal program.

Leadership and Achievements

As the managing partner, Zalina oversees both the Legal and Management Divisions of her firm, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality service delivery. Her leadership extends beyond her firm; she served as the Chairperson for the Islamic Finance Committee of the Malacca Bar and as a Committee Member of Islamic Finance for the Bar Council from 2013 to 2014. In March 2015, she obtained the Associate Qualifications in Islamic Finance (AQIF) awarded by the Islamic Bank and Finance Institution of Malaysia (IBFIM).

Zalina’s expertise and thought leadership have been recognized through her invitations as a guest speaker on TV1’s Selamat Pagi Malaysia program, where she has shared her insights on consumer rights on three occasions.
